Biographical Sketch:

Tzuoh-Miin Juang received the BS degree in pharmacy from Taipei Medical College in 1966, the MS and PhD degrees in medicinal chemistry from the University of Tokyo in 1974 and 1977, respectively. From 1977 to 1982, Dr. Juang worked as a researcher in Fine Chemical Department, Union Industrial Research Institute (now Material and Chemical Research Laboratories, Industrial Technology Research Institute). Dr. Juang joined the Department of Applied Chemistry at National Chiao Tung University in 1982, where he became a full professor in 1984 and later on served as the department head for four years (1990~1994) and associate dean of College of Science for three years (2002~2005). From 1987 to 1988, Dr. Juang was a visiting professor at the University of Tokyo. Since fall 2007, Dr. Juang has been the professor and department head of Bioinformatics at Asia University. His research interests are in the areas of synthesis of optical agents, specialty drugs, and synthesis of liquid crystal.
